Members of this Catholic Church ministry assist those in need of spiritual, emotional, and material assistance. Volunteer “Vincentian’s” as these caseworkers are called, visit the person or family in need and help them in identifying their challenges. A client is helped with paying utility bills, rent, groceries, clothing, etc. No one is turned away. Although their basic needs are met, often times any holiday wish lists for their children are not.

Everyday, abused and neglected children in our own community are placed in temporary foster care because their parents can’t or won’t take care of them. CASA gives these children a voice in court so they can grow up in safe, permanent homes where they can thrive. Founded in 2005, trained volunteer caseworkers visit these children and become a “constant” for these young people, providing support from going to court with them, playing games, and just listening to what they have to say, developing a loving relationship with them.

This agency exists to assist low income individuals and families to maintain an affordable, sanitary, and secure living environment. They provide them with the means to avoid crisis situations and achieve economic independence. Caseworkers are assigned and help with finding community services to help as well with dental care, home repairs, etc. Providing emergency housing due to domestic abuse and fire is also a priority.

With 40 years of healthcare leadership and expertise, this agency is licensed to serve patients living with serious illness. As hospice caregivers, these caseworkers visit the patients at their homes. At times, they are visiting young children, giving their parents or guardians support in any way they may need. With more than their ill child at home, parents are often overwhelmed and can’t think of anything other than caring for this child. To have someone “adopt” and help with the wish lists of all their children is truly a blessing.

The vision of this agency is to reduce homelessness among women and children through creative strategies and community partnerships, resulting in lasting self-sufficiency. Women who are experiencing homelessness are assigned case managers who work with them to develop an individual plan. Areas of focus include employment, education, parenting, financial skills, housing, physical and mental health and well being. This process serves to empower women as they transition from homelessness to self sufficiency, individually (if they do not have children) or with their children.
